Hello everyone! how you're doing? I hope everything is going fine. At this very moment you might mumble "Who's fine?" and "This guy just posts for popularity" Well, what you think doesn't matter for others than you. Everything just depends on your mentality. How you interpret the situation, how you see the problems, how you visualize everything matters. Everyone complains that their lives are full of problems, difficulties, barricades, demons or whatever. It all depends on our mentality. You are how you think, we playing the victim role in the society. We are letting those problems which are impacting our mentalities. Those problems are preventing us from doing regular things, treating people with kindness, caring your loved ones. Think! Is it really necessary to stop doing things which keep you happy just for some temporary problems? Now, I'm gonna discuss 'Leader vs Victim' mentalities.
First, let us look at the victim mentality. Of course, we all are victims. We are victims of nature. We're playing the victim role. When an issue or a problem shows up, we whine like a victim. We act as if nothing is in our hands. We generally never accept our fault even though we have. Instead of letting the pain go, we live with that and whine. Instead of forgiving, we are holding the grudge. Instead of assuming the responsibility, we are blaming others. Instead of keeping everything in our realm, we are giving the power to external forces to control us. Instead of controlling your emotions, we are getting controlled by our emotions. We all are dependent on others and situations. We have to realize this and we should wake up. Till yesterday, I blamed others and circumstances for my failures. Today, I understood that I'm sailing in an ancient yacht which depends on the direction of the wind. Now I'm making my own engine powered cruiser to sail independently. I started to think independently, I have my own dreams. Every day I come across many people who suggest many things and say that what I'm doing now won't help me in future. But I never got manipulated by them. I thank Robin Sharma for his wonder book 'A leader who had no title' which helped me to come out of victim mentality.
Here are some traits of a victim:
- Complaining too much
- Inability to assume responsibility over the situation
- Letting external forces to impact his attitude
- Concluding every problem as if it's going to last forever
- Whining over others
- 24/7 criticism
- Seeking for short term gains
- Blaming others
- Refuse to forgive
- Impatience
- Seeking more entertainment
Now, let's see how leaders behave. Leaders are so rare on this planet. Out of 10,000, there is only 1 leader and remaining are victims. Generally, when we speak of leaders, things which pop up in the mind are the wealth, branded apparel, fancy cars, and influence. Actually, you don't require to be aristocratic to be a leader. You need not have all the possessions to be a leader. A real leader leads a simple life even if he's wealthy and opulent. Just look at Steve Jobs. He always doesn't wear a heavy tuxedo or jewelry. He just wears a plain black turtleneck black tee shirt, simple blue jeans, and a pair of cool white sneakers. Even though if they're branded, he just keeps it simple. Observe his body language while he is presenting a product. He doesn't brag, he never hankers, and doesn't even show off too much. A real leader who stays optimistic all the time, shows professionalism in his attitude, never worries about the petty issues, and always encourages people.
Here are some traits of leaders:
- Assumes responsibility
- Views the problem as the blessing in disguise
- Encourages peers
- 24/7 optimistic
- Long term gains perspective
- Patience
- Seeks more education
- Self-awareness
- Positivism
Remember! Victims always complain and leaders always learn. Which one is the best? Victim mentality or Leadership mentality? Do you wanna spend rest of your life as a victim by giving others the chance to hurt you? Or you wanna cruise like a leader with strong core values and concrete mentality? If you wanna take the leadership, don't wait for the title. Be smart!
Thank you, see you soon!
